Ms. Ayensa I. Millan has years of experience handling criminal and immigration matters. Her past work with various firms and nonprofits strengthened her belief that there is a need for compassionate and effective legal representation. This understanding compelled her to form CIMA Law Group, PC.
As an immigrant herself, Ayensa relates to the needs and struggles of her community. She has worked tirelessly in her community and devoted her life to improving the lives of those she represents. Her commitment and dedication stem from her own personal experiences; knowing first hand the struggles and needs of the immigrant community.
Ayensa volunteers her time, expertise, and resources with various community organizations; including the handling of low-bono and pro-bono cases. This type of advocacy has established her as a trusted and respected attorney among her colleagues.
Alicia Russell
Board Secretary
A founding member of ACE, Alicia Russell works diligently to ensure that the voices of all Arizona's working families are heard. The 10th child of migrant farmworkers, she grew up with a first-hand knowledge of the impact of racial and economic oppression on the Latino and immigrant communities in Arizona.
In 2006, Alicia served as the Treasurer and Spokesperson for the Arizona Minimum Wage Coalition, which successfully established a minimum wage, with automatic annual indexing to the cost of living through ballot initiative. Alicia has led her community in a campaign for accountability and reform at the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office and assisted thousands of legal permanent residents apply for citizenship through her work at citizenship fairs.
Raquel Teran
Board Member
Raquel Teran is a mother, wife, and community advocate, originally from the border towns of Douglas, Arizona and Agua Prieta, Sonora Mexico. She serves as the Campaign Director for ISTANDWITHPP, a campaign fighting to protect the Affordable Care Act and women’s reproductive rights. She recently was the Regional Director of Mi Familia Vota’s Education Fund, committed to increasing Latino civic participation through grassroots mobilization.
For the last twelve years Raquel has been a vocal and active community advocate for civil, labor, immigrant, and women’s reproductive rights, Raquel mobilized Arizonans through civic engagement and community organizing. Those efforts were used to rally against the injustices faced at the hands of former Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio and SB1070 author, Russell Pearce - resulting in a recall and his re-election defeat.
