My name is (___), and I am a (DACA recipient/parent of a DACA recipient/community member/etc) living in (city) Arizona. I am writing to urge you to take action to protect DACA recipients and ensure their futures are not left in uncertainty.

 

For years, DACA recipients have built their lives in this country working, studying, and contributing to their communities. Yet their futures remain unstable due to ongoing legal and political challenges. I am asking you to support policies that:

• Provide permanent protections for DACA recipients

• Create a pathway to citizenship that does not weaponize our communities

• Extend longer validity periods for DACA renewals

• Offer automatic extensions for DACA protections

• Resume processing of new DACA applications with updated requirements like later entry date, younger and older age requirements, etc

 

Advice for strengthening the letter:

• Share your story or connection

• Why this issue matters to you, your family, community, etc

• What’s at stake if protections are not secured, example: “As a DACA recipient, I have lived in this country since I was…” OR “As a community member, I see first hand how DACA recipients strengthen our neighborhoods…” OR “As a parent/sibling/child of a DACA recipient, I worry about…”

 

DACA recipients are our neighbors, coworkers, students, and loved ones. We all deserve stability, dignity, and the opportunity to fully belong in the country we call home. 

 

I urge you to act with urgency and support meaningful, permanent solutions. Our communities cannot continue to live in limbo.
